A day running your business on CHS
Not a feature tour. Here's what actually happens on a normal Tuesday.
7:42 AM — A call comes in while you're on a job
You're halfway up a ladder or elbow-deep in a crawlspace. Your phone rings. Instead of going to voicemail — where most leads die — we pick up. We ask what's going on, get the address, and quote what we can based on what you've told us to say.
No robot reading a script that hangs up on an emergency call. A real person, backed by the details you gave us about your business, answering like your office would if you had one.
7:44 AM — The job's on your phone before you're off the ladder
The call gets booked straight onto your calendar. You get a text: name, address, what they need, when they want it. No message to return, no note scribbled on a receipt, no "I'll call them back tonight" that turns into never.
You see it, you know it's real, and it's already on today's or this week's schedule.
3:15 PM — Job's done. Invoice goes out before you leave the driveway
You mark the job complete, add the parts you used from your truck stock, and the invoice builds itself from what's already logged — labor, materials, nothing re-typed from memory. Tap send. The customer gets a text with a link to pay by card, ACH, or tap-to-pay right on your phone if they hand you a card on the spot.
Most solo operators lose money not because they underprice jobs, but because they forget to invoice, invoice late, or invoice wrong. This closes that gap the same day.
3:20 PM — Paid before you're back on the road
No mailing a check. No "I'll Venmo you later" that never comes. The customer pays from the text link, the payment reconciles automatically against the invoice, and it shows up in your AR as paid — not as a balance you have to remember to chase.
End of month — Your books are done, not a mess you're dreading
If you've added bookkeeping, a real bookkeeper has already categorized your expenses, reconciled your payments, and handed you a clean profit-and-loss — not a shoebox of receipts waiting for April. If you're running the software alone, your money-in and money-out are already tracked and categorized, ready to export to QuickBooks whenever you need it.
No more scrambling in March. No more guessing what a job actually made you after materials and gas.
Anytime — The $450K scoreboard
Open the app and two taps gets you the answer to the only two questions that matter: am I on pace for my goal this year, and who owes me money. You set your income goal when you sign up; the dashboard tracks your pace against it, your close rate on quotes, what's overdue, and your average job value — in plain language, not accounting jargon.
The onboarding story
What happens on the setup call
You book a 20–30 minute call. On that call, a real person:
- Imports your customer list — send us a spreadsheet, a CSV, or even a rough export from whatever you're using now (or nothing at all); we get your existing customers into the system so you're not starting from zero
- Sets up your services and pricing — what you sell, what you charge, so quotes are fast from day one
- Connects your payments — so you can take a card or send a text-to-pay link the same day
- Turns on call answering or bookkeeping if you want them — opt in on the call, or skip it and add it later
You are not handed a login and a help article. Someone sets this up with you.
The first two weeks
Days 1–2: Your customer list is in, your pricing is set, payments are connected. We ask you to send one quote and complete one job through the system — most owners have their first real job move through CHS within 48 hours of the call.
Days 3–7: You're using it on real jobs — quoting, scheduling, invoicing. If you turned on call answering, calls are already routing through us. We check in to fix any rough edges before they become a habit of working around the system.
Days 8–14: Your first invoices are getting paid through CHS, and if you added bookkeeping, your first month of transactions is getting categorized. By the end of week two, most owners have a full loop — quote, schedule, invoice, payment — running through the system without thinking about it.
Trial ends: You've seen real jobs move through the system and real money hit your account before you're ever asked to pay. Decide from there.
Ready to stop running your office at 9pm.
